Life in Ruxton's Lower School
From
Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, including Pre-First, Lower School students
achieve strong personal and academic growth as the result of small classes,
expertly trained teachers attuned to how each student learns best, and the
emphasis we place on directly modeling study skills and core human values.
In addition to core curriculum, special classes begin in Kindergarten and
include:
- Art
- Spanish
- Music

At
RCS traditional teaching techniques and strategies are supported and
enhanced by multi-sensory methods. Students are active participants in the
learning process, often sharing what they have learned in presentations,
three-dimensional projects, and dramatic performances. Small class sizes
allow for more personal interaction between the student and the teacher
affording enrichment opportunities, as well as the ability to respond to the
individual learning styles found in all children.
