Extended Day at Ruxton
The
Extended Day Program will operate from dismissal until 6:00 PM five days a week,
EXCEPT DAYS WITH A NOON
DISMISSAL
ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP AT THE NOON DISMISSAL TIME
-- No coverage will
be provided when school is closed for a full day such as a professional day,
snow day, or vacation day --
While the program for each day will
vary, students can expect a nutritious snack, time for outside play or gym use,
quiet time for reading or homework, educational games, and/or a variety of
creative activities. Children in Grades K-8 are welcome.

Five afternoons:@

EMERGENCY-DROP IN HOURLY CARE:
Parents wishing to use this service should call the appropriate Division
Office in advance to reserve space. Given staffing and student/teacher ratio
requirements, the program may be full. However, accommodations will always be
made in case of an emergency.

More than one hour:$20
LATE
PICK-UP:
In fairness to the
Extended Day Staff, all children must be picked up by 6:00 PM. After that time,
late fees will apply.
From 6-6:15 PM:$15
After 6:15 PM:$2.00
per minute
BILLING:
Families signing
up for the program will be billed monthly.
BEHAVIOR:
Since the
Extended Day Program is an extension of the Ruxton Country School day, it is
expected that children will behave in a manner consistent with school rules and
guidelines as stated in the handbook. Children who cannot meet these
expectations will be required to leave the program.
